Craft Breweries in Mid-Coast Maine

Craft Breweries in Mid-Coast Maine

The Mid-coast Maine region is home to some of the best breweries in Maine — a state well-known for delicious craft ales and lagers.  Whether you’re just visiting or you’ve been here a while, a day spent sampling suds from these local breweries is never a mistake.  Listed below are three located in a close proximity to Camden! (Please drink responsibly.)

ROCK HARBOR PUB AND BREWERY

Owner/Operator Dan Pease seized an opportunity to bring great pub fare and craft beer to this ever-growing food-centered city of Rockland.  Two years later in 2011, Rock Harbor Brewing Company was born.  With the brewery up and running for more than six years now, Rock Harbor has between 5 and 10 of their own beers on tap at all times.  Rock Harbor has become a must-see when you visit Rockland.  Dan brews beer almost daily to keep up with the local demand.  Stop in for a burger, a beer flight, a pint, or a brewery tour.  (We hear that the fried pickles are worth trying as well!)

MARSHALL WHARF BREWING COMPANY

Located on the waterfront in beautiful downtown Belfast, Marshall Wharf offers 17 draft lines dedicated to their own beers.  The brewery store and tasting room is currently open every day except Monday and they sell fill and sell growlers to go.  Three Tides, located right next door is owned by the same Belfast couple also offers Marshall Wharf beer and has a tasty tapas menu.

LIBERTY CRAFT BREWING

Offering small batch micro brews made using a unique wood fired system, Liberty Brewing offers a rotation of 24 premium beers.  Located in Liberty and overlooking the Camden Hills, this small town brewery offers 6 of their beers on draft at a time along with burgers, brats and panini.s.   On Saturday’s in season, they offer wood fired pizza and live music.

Also…The Maine Beer Trail: Visit breweries, get rewarded.  Established in 2009, the Maine Beer Trail spotlights the high quality and creative diversity of fresh, hand-crafted, Maine-made beer. The purpose of the Trail is to give visitors a unique way to enjoy the vibrant micro and craft brewing industry found throughout the state. The Maine Beer Trail is an easy to follow brochure that can be used throughout the state to find nearby pubs and breweries. When we launched in 2009, there were about 25 breweries on the trail. Today there are more than 80 breweries that welcome visitors all around the state. Hit the Maine Beer Trail and get rewarded!
